Gena Henderson, chief of the integrative functions department of exploration devices and functions division at NASA, stated her love for STEM commenced at an early age. Henderson grew up about 50 miles from the Kennedy Area Center in Florida and would check out rockets start normally.

“Sometimes, pupils really do not have a roadmap,” Henderson claimed. “They really don’t know anyone in the endeavor [they want to get into].”
Girls have a tendency to have much less position models to spark their fascination in STEM, the panelists pointed out, and they almost never see examples of feminine scientists and engineers in well-liked culture.
